Abigail and David

Abigail and David

In our last story, we learned how Saul goes after David again and David sneaks in and cuts off a piece of Saul's robe but does not kill Saul. Saul wept and said “Surely you will be king” and they made a promise. In this story, we learn that Samuel passes away and we meet a man named, Nabal who insults David but The Lord strikes Nabal dead and David marries his wife, Abigail, inspired by the book of 1 Samuel.

1 Samuel 25:35
David, soon to be king, faces a challenge when a cruel man named Nabal refuses to help him. Nabal's wife, Abigail, intervenes with a generous gift and a heartfelt apology. Abigail's actions teach us the importance of apologizing when we've wronged someone. If you've hurt someone, you can make amends, say sorry, and seek forgiveness while praying for them. In the end, Nabal dies, and David marries Abigail. The lesson here is that making amends is vital when we've done wrong, as James 5:16 suggests.
