2 Chronicles 16:9
Abijah started strong, trusting in God's promise to David, defeating Jeroboam. His son Asa continued, removing idols and enjoying peace. However, when faced with a new threat, Asa forgot to rely on God, taking treasures from the temple and seeking help elsewhere. A lesson emerges: When in need, turn to God first, seeking His wisdom and strength. God's promise is to strengthen those fully committed to Him. Hearts are devoted to belief, trust, and obedience. Hanani reminded Asa of God's displeasure, triggering anger, ill-treatment of his people, and personal suffering. Asa died, and Jehoshaphat's rule is up next.
