David and Bathsheba

David and Bathsheba

In our last story, David defeated the Ammonites after their king had humiliated some of David’s officials. In this story, we will learn about David staying back from war and sleeping with Uriah’s wife and his attempt to cover up his sin, as inspired by 2 Samuel.

Psalm 32:5
David made a terrible choice. He saw a beautiful woman named Bathsheba, who was someone else's wife, and instead of looking away and obeying God, he decided to have her. This initial sin led to more wrongdoing, including lies and the murder of Bathsheba's husband. Now, let's talk about sin. Sin is anything we do that goes against what God tells us to do or doesn't do what He says we should do. Examples include lying, cheating, stealing, being mean, looking at inappropriate things, and worrying too much. Just like David, when you tell God you were wrong and are sorry, He can heal your heart and make it clean again. The Bible uses powerful images to describe what God does with our sins after we confess!
