Elijah and the Drought

Elijah and the Drought

In our last story, Abijah ruled Judah and repeated the same sins of his father. His son, Asa ruled and for the most part, did right in the eyes of the Lord but drifted away later. In this story, we learn about the prophet Elijah and how he survived in a time of famine because of the faithfulness of the widow from Zarephath, as inspired by 1 Kings.

1 Kings 17:24
The widow at Zarephath felt alone and wanted to give up in a time of famine. But God, through Elijah, showed her His love. Even when you're sad and feel alone, God sees you and collects your tears. He will wipe away all your tears one day. God's plan to care for the widow began with her sharing her last meal with Elijah, resulting in God's miraculous provision. Later, her son died, but God's love brought him back to life. Just as Jesus raised a child, God's power surpasses everything, even death. Trust God, for He never gives up on you, and His love is ever-present.
