John 20:26-27
After He rose from the dead, Jesus appeared to His disciples to reassure them, especially Thomas and Peter. Thomas had doubts and needed to see Jesus’ wounds to believe He was alive. Jesus showed Thomas His scars, gently helping him overcome his doubts. This shows us Jesus’ patience and understanding. He also reaffirmed His friendship with Peter, who felt guilty for denying Him. Jesus reminded Peter of their first meeting and, by performing a miracle of a huge catch of fish, reassured him that He was forgiven. This story shows us that Jesus is always ready to forgive us and wants us to trust Him, even when we make mistakes.
