The apostle John had been exiled to an island by Rome called Patmos. While John was there, God showed him a vision of the future and told him to write it down. This is the first part of the vision John saw and wrote down, as inspired by Revelation.
Revelation 1:8
John’s vision on the island of Patmos, as recorded in Revelation, reveals the ultimate triumph of God and the glorious future awaiting believers.
He saw symbolic representations like lampstands for churches and Jesus with white hair and flaming eyes, depicting his wisdom and divine authority.
John describes a new heaven and earth where God resides among His people, erasing all pain and tears—a comforting promise that offers hope and encourages steadfast faith despite earthly struggles.
