Jonah 3:1
In this new chapter of Jonah's journey, God grants him a second chance to deliver a warning to Nineveh. Jonah heeds the call and, after three days of travel, conveys God's impending judgment. Astonishingly, the entire city, from the king to its residents, repents with humility, fasting, and prayer. God, moved by their sincerity, shows mercy and refrains from destruction. However, Jonah, nursing bitterness, questions God's decision, revealing his lingering anger towards the people of Nineveh. God uses a tree analogy to highlight the inconsistency in Jonah's compassion, emphasizing His concern for all, even those once considered enemies.
