Jonathan’s Victory

1 Samuel 14:45
Jonathan survives a perilous situation. God's undeniable presence is felt through his victorious battles against the Philistines. However, a new rule from Saul forbids eating, leaving the soldiers hungry. Jonathan, unaware of the rule, eats honey, gaining strength to fight. Saul's arbitrary decision to punish Jonathan infuriates the people of Israel. They courageously protect Jonathan, refusing to let Saul harm him. This underscores a vital lesson: standing up for those in need is crucial. The Israelites' bravery stemmed from knowing God was on their side, echoing the idea that being on God's side trumps all fears.
