2 Kings 18:5-6
King Hezekiah is a rare example of devotion to God among kings. Distinct from his father, Ahaz, Hezekiah trusted God personally and took significant steps to purify God's temple. In the Bible, God's temple is compared to our bodies, now dwelling places for the Holy Spirit after Jesus' ascension. Paul emphasizes this in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, urging believers to maintain purity. Like Hezekiah cleansing the temple, we should examine our hearts, removing anything hindering our connection with God. Seeking God's cleansing, as David did, leads to worship with a clean heart. Hezekiah's obedience brought blessings, highlighting the rewards of honoring God.
