Running from Saul

Running from Saul

In our last story, we learned how David and Jonathan agreed to a sign and so Jonathan told David to "Go quickly and don’t stop!". In this story we will learn how David continues to flee and visits Ahimelech, is given Goliath’s sword, and then in Gath pretends to be crazy in front of Achish, inspired by the book of 1 Samuel.

Psalm 142:5
In this story, David finds refuge in Adullam's cave while on the run. He encounters a priest who offers him bread and Goliath's sword. David realizes he must hide to avoid recognition. In the cave, he reconnects with his family and spends time alone with God, penning three heartfelt psalms. David acknowledges his fears but trusts God as his refuge. You can find your own ""hiding place"" to talk to God and share your thoughts. David becomes the leader of 400 distressed men and vows to protect a priest's son when Saul orders their execution. God's presence strengthens him. David's next challenge is showing kindness to his enemy.
