2 Samuel 18:12
In David's later life, he never stops learning life lessons. He prepares for battle and is willing to fight alongside his men, displaying true leadership. He resembles Jesus, who served and showed that great leaders never shy away from lowly tasks. David insists his men protect his son Absalom despite their conflict, revealing his enduring love. When Absalom's hair gets caught in a tree, a soldier obeys David's order not to harm him, despite the temptation to become a hero. Obedience, even when it's challenging, truly shows love for God. David's soldier's faithfulness is an example to follow. Unfortunately, Joab disobeys by killing Absalom, causing David more sadness.
