In our last story, we learned how Saul consulted a medium to speak to Samuel as the Philistines prepared for war. In this story, we learn about the death of Saul and Jonathan, inspired by the books of 1 Samuel and 1 Chronicles.
David faced the deaths of Saul and Jonathan, leading to his deep sadness. He knew God could turn sorrow into good because God's plans are always the best. When sad, remember that God shares your sadness and comforts you, collecting your tears because He cares. Even in sadness, God can bring good. Just as ingredients make a delicious pancake, God works things out for the best. David's life continued with a purpose, and Jesus, too, brought something remarkable from sadness. Talk about your feelings, trust God, and know He works everything out just right.
