The Life of a True Servant

In our last story, we learned how Balaam was unable to curse Israel but instead blessed them three times. Finally said there would be an All-Powerful one that would come from Israel. In this story, we learn about the death of Moses and how Joshua became the new leader to lead the Israelites into the promised land as inspired by the book of Numbers and Deuteronomy.

Deuteronomy 31:7-8
Moses passed away, but he left encouraging words for the Israelites. Joshua became their new leader, guiding them into the Promised Land. This was a big change. They'd grown up with Moses, who led, protected, and taught them. But now, they'd live in houses and enjoy new foods, although the newness could be scary. Even without Moses, God was with them. He told Joshua and the people, "Be strong and courageous, for I will not forsake you." Remember these words when you face scary situations. Moses taught them that good choices bring blessings, and bad choices bring trouble. Moses knew this too well; his disobedience meant he couldn't enter the Promised Land. God gave Moses a special view of the land, but even Moses' friendship with God paled before Jesus. Jesus, greater than Moses, would lead people out of sin's slavery and mend God's creation.
