1 Kings 13:1
Jeroboam grew jealous of Rehoboam. RB ruled Judah, home to God's temple in Jerusalem. His jealousy led him to abandon God's ways and create idols, a perilous path. Jealousy can consume us when we covet others' success. Praying for those we envy transforms our hearts and frees us to rejoice in their blessings. Next, a nameless ""man of God"" from Judah confronted JB in Bethel. The absence of his name emphasizes that fame isn't essential to serve God significantly. This ""man of God"" relayed God's message and a sign, but JB persisted in idolatry. As forewarned, JB's kingdom fell due to his disobedience.
